These two species are very similar, with most characters overlapping. IN GENERAL:
1. P. vitreus shows a small to medium-sized submarginal spot in space 2 DHW; in erictonorum the spot is lacking or minute;
2. The two spots in space 1 FW are more widely separated in erictonorum than vitreus;
3. The lower arm of the FW cellstreak is strongly broken in erictonorum; in vitreus it is entire or barely broken.
Note that in the illu
The submarginal row of spots in space 3-5 HW is irregular in size and position in P. grandis; it is more even in P. vitreus.
The hyaline streak in space 2 FW is deeply divided in P. marshalli; in P. vitreus it is only indented slightly at its outer end.
