Phanus vitreus

These two species are very similar, with most characters overlapping. IN GENERAL:
1. P. vitreus shows a small to medium-sized submarginal spot in space 2 DHW; in erictonorum the spot is lacking or minute;
2. The two spots in space 1 FW are more widely separated in erictonorum than vitreus;
3. The lower arm of the FW cellstreak is strongly broken in erictonorum; in vitreus it is entire or barely broken.
